Studio Judy G

When Judy Gittelsohn, painter, Golden Certified Working Artist, and art teacher, first visited Watsonville several years ago, she immediately fell in love with the town. Soon after, she and Greg bought a home here, with dreams of building an artist studio. But Judy also wanted to draw artists and thinkers to the area. To that end, the pair created an artists’ retreat near the Elkhorn Slough as a place for Judy to teach painting lessons, and where visiting artists could find inspiration while immersed in natural beauty. Now Judy has finally opened her long-dreamed of painting studio—Studio Judy G—in the heart of downtown Watsonville. Besides showing works of art, the studio serves as a gathering place for events, lectures, and workshops, and as a home for Judy to continue her long-time passion of teaching art to people with special needs (“Art for Well Beings”).

Details about her grand opening at her new location at 430 Main Street will be coming soon.

Judy is also the creator of “Why Watsonville,” a community group dedicated to the preservation and celebration of Watsonville.
